* Affinity Publisher (See Serif Affinity Publisher). * 3DCoat (all versions said to work on Windows 7, untested). At October 2022 it was also reported that… “43 per cent of Microsoft devices are still not capable of being upgraded to Windows 11” According to an official Gov.uk survey in early 2022, Windows 7 is still used by 20% of UK small businesses, rising to 27% for medium-sized UK firms. If graphics/3D/DTP software is named here, assume that later versions could have problems installing and/or running on Windows 7.Īnd before you ask, yes, Windows 7 is still in use. It can sculpt, paint on models and do a lot cool things that Daz does not really talk about anymore as well as make models that you can rig in Daz or blender ect. What is ‘the last good version’ of an item of creative software, on Windows 7 64-bit? Lastly Download Hexagon when you Download all the Daz3D tools. For example many people, including my self use both Zbrush and 3D-Coat. If the sky is the limit, I have found that all these tools compliment each other. If budget is an issue go with Blender first. Having said that it did get my rigging and weight painting done easily so I'm not knocking it if you already own it.īlender is a much better choice it is constantly being improved and updated buy growing and loving community of prod and enthusiasts. I am divorced with to much time and money on my hands at times and bought Carrara in haste. If I could do it all over I would have only bought Poser Pro and download all the free programs from Daz and also Download Blender. The FBX export into or out of Carrara is hit or mix with only 50% success rate in my case. I appreciate Carrara but you will find that they seldom if ever update it, They just tease you with Carrara 8.5 Pro is coming some day. It only takes a few days dedicated to learning the basics of Blender and before long you can set it up like 3D Max or Maya or however you like. I found my self still needing and appreciating Daz 3D and Poser but I was back to using Blender along with those tools. As I gained experience (I'm still no expert). I was able to rig and weight paint models easy in Carrara and box model easy. At the time I would just open Blender and gaze at it in confusion. I bought Carrara while I was still in the fear of Blender learning curve phase. I have gotten good use out of Daz and Poser.
